The Journey: Day-by-Day Breakdown
Our 9-day immersion is structured with a rhythm of ceremony, reflection, integration, and holistic healing modalities, allowing the body, heart, and spirit to re-calibrate in harmony with the natural world.
Day 1: Arrival & Nature Connection
You arrive into the cradle of the Peruvian Amazon — welcomed with open hearts, nourishing meals, and the sacred energy of the land. Together we gather and begin to create the ceremonial container for the days ahead.
Day 2: First Ceremony — The Opening of the Heart
The day begins with a gentle yoga, followed by an ayahuasca discussion and shaman introduction. Following lunch, we gather to set intentions and participate in grounding exercises before going into your first ceremony. The shamans call the spirit of the medicine through sacred icaros. This night often brings emotional opening, trust, and connection with Mother Ayahuasca.
Day 3: Second Ceremony — Meeting the Shadow
The morning begins with a plant bath given by the female maestra. We hold an integration circle followed by afternoon meditation. The second ceremony allows for a deeper descent into the healing journey. Often, this ceremony brings forward layers of unprocessed emotion, trauma, or ancestral imprints. Held in safety, you are guided to release what no longer serves.
Day 4: Grounding & Nature Immersion
Followed by a morning plant bath, we have a full day of rest and integration. Through jungle walks, creative expression, meditation, and sharing circles, you begin to process what has been revealed. The jungle forest becomes your mirror and your guide.
Day 5: Third Ceremony — Receiving the Vision
An optional somatic movement morning practice is offered followed by the local artisans market. A beautiful way to help support the local community. An afternoon sound bath session is offered to help ground your energy for the third ceremony. Having cleared space within, the medicine may now offer visions, insights, or a deepened sense of purpose. This night is often revelatory — a peak in the arc of your transformation.
Day 6: Integration & Rest
We begin with a rejuvenating plant bath followed by an integration circle. After lunch we offer a Post Retreat Integration Workshop to discuss what to expect after arriving home, providing recommendations, tools and aftercare tips to ease the integration process.
Day 7: Fourth Ceremony — Anchoring the Light
We begin our day with a somatic movement practice followed by a boat excursion on the Ucayali River. Following lunch, we say our farewells to our 7 Day guests. An afternoon breathwork session is offered to open you more deeply into your final ceremony. Your final ceremony can often be about consolidation, gratitude, closure, and commitment to carry your healing into the world. You may emerge with clarity and a renewed sense of sacred responsibility to your path.
Day 8: Integration through Creative Expression
The final plant bath and integration circle for the retreat are completed. You are invited to share your medicine journey and express it through art, movement, or writing. Integration is not just mental — it is cellular and soul-deep. We close the retreat with a Fire Ceremony, letting go of whatever else does not serve and celebrating with music, song and creative expression.
Day 9: Return with Grace
We close the retreat with a final somatic movement practice, a delicious breakfast and lunch, and a farewell with the land and your fellow travelers. You leave not as a guest, but as kin — forever changed.

Honoring the Shipibo Lineage
Our Ayahuasca Ceremonies are led by Shipibo Elders that have decades of experience working with Ayahuasca and Master Teacher Plants

Cecilio Cauper & Rosenda Flores
Rosenda and Cecilio, cousins, are originally from the Shipibo Village of Santa Isabel de Bahuanisho. Cecilio is 67 years old and has been working with Ayahuasca and dieting master teacher plants for 32 years. He comes from a lineage of healers in his family. He first apprenticed under his grandfather, and then his father. Rosenda is 49 years old, and began apprenticing with Madre Ayahuasca over 20 years ago. She has been a part of the Nimea Kaya family since 2013. With their extensive experience in this healing practice, they both continue to diet many plants of the Amazon to expand their wisdom, knowledge and abilities to heal more deeply those they work with.

Augusto Gomez & Ercilia Flores
Ercilia and Augusto are from the Contamana region along the Ucayali River. As husband and wife, they have both been practicing curanderismo for the last 30 years. After their daughter fell gravely ill and was healed by a local healer, Augusto and Ercilia felt called to follow in his footsteps and began their long journey of apprenticeship and plant diets thereafter. Their vast knowledge in medicinal plants lends itself towards great healing and transformation at Nimea Kaya. They both are very incredibly strong healers and together as a team is something very special to be experienced. They have been a part of the Nimea Kaya family since 2013.

Pre & Post-Retreat Support: Integrating the Medicine
The real journey begins after the retreat ends
Approaching your Ayahuasca journey with proper preparation will allow for an easier transition into the post retreat integration process. Each stage of the Ayahuasca experience carries importance and are all interconnected to have a successful outcome. We place importance on each phase of the journey – including preparation, ceremony support and post retreat integration. The ‘real journey’ often begins after the retreat ends. At Nimea Kaya, we believe that true healing unfolds not only in ceremony but in the way you embody your transformation in daily life. That’s why we offer thoughtful, heart-centered pre and post-retreat support to help you anchor your experience long after you’ve left the jungle.
What You Can Expect:
- Preparation Guidance: You will receive an Ayahuasca Preparation Guide with personalized practices, journaling prompts, and spiritual tools to help you prepare to have a successful and transformative ceremonial experience. There will be a Preparation Call offered via Zoom prior to the Retreat. Complimentary personal consultations are also available per request.
