Answer the Call of the Amazon: A 7 Day Ayahuasca Retreat in Peru

“There comes a time when your soul whispers — it is time to remember, to return, to heal.”

Join us at Nimea Kaya, a sacred sanctuary nestled in the Peruvian jungle, where the ancient plant medicine Ayahuasca awaits those who are ready to embark on a journey of spiritual awakening, emotional healing, and soul remembrance.

At Nimea Kaya, we’re more than a retreat center — we’re a family of seekers, healers, and light bearers. We honor the sacred traditions of the Shipibo lineage, who have worked with Ayahuasca for generations as a spiritual and medicinal guide. Every ceremony is infused with their songs, prayers, and deep wisdom.

In our conscious community setting, our guests develop deep bonds with each other, creating new friends and family for life. We dedicate our work and love not only to the guests coming through yet by giving back to the community through a variety of programs to elevate the health and well being of each individual we can reach.

Here, in the serenity of the Amazon rainforest, you are lovingly held in a sacred space of transformation. Whether you are seeking clarity, peace, healing or connection to something greater — you are welcome here, exactly as you are.

The 7-Day Sacred Ayahuasca Journey

Day 1: Arrival & Sacred Intention

Welcome to the sanctuary of Nimea Kaya. We gather to settle into the rhythm of the land. Your journey begins with grounding, presence, and connection to the group and the space. Welcomed with open hearts, nourishing meals, and the sacred energy of the land.

Day 2: Opening the Portal

The day begins with an optional gentle yoga session, followed by an Ayahuasca discussion and shaman introduction. Following lunch, we gather in circle to set intentions and participate in grounding exercises to prepare our energy for the first ceremony. The shamans call the spirit of the medicine through sacred icaros. This night often brings emotional opening, trust, and connection with Mother Ayahuasca. You are held in love as the portal to deeper dimensions opens.

Day 3: Shedding the Layers

The morning begins with a plant bath given by the female maestra. We hold an integration circle followed by afternoon meditation. The second ceremony allows for a deeper descent into the healing journey. Often, this ceremony brings forward layers of unprocessed emotion, trauma, or ancestral imprints. Held in safety, you are guided to release what no longer serves. Many experience emotional catharsis, ancestral connection, and energetic cleansing.

Day 4: Integration & Stillness

Followed by a morning plant bath, we have a full day of rest and integration. We gather in integration circles, share reflections, and allow the medicine to continue working in silence, dreams, and gentle connection.

Day 5: Receiving the Vision

This day is spacious. An optional somatic movement morning practice is offered followed by the local artisans market. A beautiful way to help support the local community. An afternoon sound bath session is offered to help ground your energy for the third ceremony. Having cleared space within, the medicine may now offer visions, revelations, or a deepened sense of purpose. With spiritual expansiveness — a peak is reached in the arc of your transformation.

Day 6: Embodying the Light

We begin with a rejuvenating plant bath followed by an integration circle. The day is designed to give space to integrate and reflect on your  ceremonies.  You anchor the healing you’ve received and prepare to carry it back into your life. After lunch we offer a Post Retreat Integration Workshop to discuss what to expect after arriving home, providing recommendations, tools and aftercare tips to ease the integration process.

Day 7: Returning Home

A gentle somatic movement morning session is offered, followed by an opportunity to connect deeper with the Amazon on a late morning boat excursion. The day concludes with lunch and connecting with all of those that have been on the medicine journey together. You leave with clarity, tools, and a new sense of who you truly are.

Honoring the Shipibo Lineage

Our Ayahuasca Retreat Ceremonies are led by Shipibo Elders that have decades of experience working with Ayahuasca and Master Teacher Plants
Ayahuasca retreat shipibo

Cecilio and Rosenda are originally from the Shipibo Village of Santa Isabel de Bahuanisho.  Cesilio is 67 years old and has been working with Ayahuasca and dieting master teacher plants for 32 years. He comes from a lineage of healers in his family. He first apprenticed under his grandfather, and then his father.   Rosenda is 49 years old, and began apprenticing with Madre Ayahuasca over 20 years ago. She has been a part of the Nimea Kaya family since 2013. With their extensive experience in this healing practice, they both continue to diet many plants of the Amazon to expand their wisdom, knowledge and abilities to heal more deeply those they work with.

Augusto and Ercilia are from the Contamana region along the Ucayali River.  As husband and wife, they have both been practicing curanderismo for the last 30 years.  After their daughter fell gravely ill and was healed by a local healer, Augusto and Ercilia felt called to follow in his footsteps and began their long journey of apprenticeship and plant diets thereafter.   Their vast knowledge in medicinal plants lends itself towards great healing and transformation at Nimea Kaya.  They both are very incredibly strong healers and together as a team is something very special to be experienced.  They have been a part of the Nimea Kaya family since 2013.
